Holiness

This work is an ongoing project that focuses on architecture around the world that evokes a sense of "holiness" and aims to comprehensively collect and reconstruct the patterns of light reflection and refraction in such architecture. I hypothesized that people feel sacred not to the rituals and styles of religions, nor to God as a symbol, but to the "gradient of a certain pattern of light" formed by the reflection and refraction of light and the caustics created by the accumulation of these patterns. photo: Takahiro Tsushima
